Tying into the 2016 National Volunteer Week theme of “Give Happy, Live Happy,” Follow My Lead – Exploring Successful Leadership for Volunteer Managers” explore what it takes to lead and deliver positive effects to the volunteer, organisation and community.
We know that volunteering is linked to improved health and well-being. Volunteering can provide opportunities for deeper civic participation by connecting people to causes and communities. But at the core of great volunteering programs are leaders who inspire, create and challenge the sectors in which they operate. Leadership plays an important and often overlooked role in managing volunteering programs. Increasingly Volunteer Managers need to lead to engage, motivate and mobilise their volunteers, supporters and organisations.
The morning session opens with a Key Note Presentation from Tanya De Jong AM followed by a facilitated Panel Discussion exploring leadership for Volunteer Managers. Lunch will be available for those who want to stay on and do some networking.
In the afternoon we will also be offering a choice of two optional Masterclasses on Leadership. Please note places are limited to 20 people per workshop and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
