Stop Under Reporting the Results of Your Volunteer Engagement

Capturing the hours your volunteers contribute is essential, but it’s only part of the story. The true impact of volunteer engagement goes far beyond just time – it creates significant value for the community. Unfortunately, many Leaders of Volunteers under-report this value, missing opportunities to highlight the full extent of their impact.

In this practical workshop, you’ll discover a straightforward process to enhance your reporting and showcase the real value your volunteers bring.

Learning outcomes:

  • A new approach to using the Wage Replacement Value to quantify volunteer time
  • How to determine overall Community Benefit Value (CBV)
  • Innovative strategies for volunteer placement that boost CBV and further your mission
  • Techniques for preparing impactful reports that create compelling fundraising communications and support data-driven decision-making

As the Founding Chair of a residential hospice in the late 90s, he sought out volunteer management software for the hospice to use, but at the time, none of the software that could be used for managing volunteers was web based. Running a small three-person website development company at the time, he donated staff time to build something just for the hospice. That was the genesis of what we now know as Volunteer Impact software. Tony discovered he was far more passionate about helping volunteer engaging organisations than he was about building corporate websites, so his company changed direction from building websites to building volunteer management software. He and the Better Impact team of 32 now work with over 3,300 organisations in 14 countries.

Tony is a producer and sponsor of the Volunteer Manager Hybrid Conference and has spoken at conferences around the world on a variety of topics related to volunteer management. He also sits on the board of a local non-profit music festival and is the volunteer chair for his neighborhood homeowner’s association. Outside of work and volunteering, Tony is the grandparent of a five-year-old and loving the opportunity to play like a child again.
