Volunteering Sector Survey
During these times, building resilience in our communities is essential. We surveyed our member organisations to find out how their needs have evolved during COVID-19. Here are some of those key findings
Key Findings
- Staying connected with volunteers: this included maintaining contact and re-engagement with volunteers after the pandemic
- Having volunteers who are themselves in a high risk category
- Adaptation to an online/remote volunteering environment
164

25
were not engaging any volunteers
36
have ceased all volunteering services, activities and programs
Ideas to Engage Volunteers During COVID-19
As disruption continues, many volunteer roles have been suspended to comply with social distancing requirements.
For volunteer involving organisations, it’s important to look ahead to the time when we will need volunteers to return and support our work. Although none of us know quite when that will be, now is a good time to plan some ways to keep your volunteers and supporters close to your organisation and ready to return when you need them.
