‘When you’re helping others, you’re also helping yourself’

On Day 4 of National Volunteer Week, meet Victor and Viva: two volunteers who feel they gain as much as they get out of their volunteering commitment.

Like many of Victoria’s millions of volunteers, they’ve found that volunteering brings a range of benefits; from meeting new people and exploring new places to practical work experience.

For Viva, volunteering is not just fun and social but a way to learn more about the experiences of people from very different backgrounds and put her own troubles into perspective.  For Victor, becoming an Australian Wildlife Conservancy volunteer is a big first step in his new career in conservation.
