Getting Started Print E-mail

Getting in touch with Volunteering Victoria is one of the ways to get started as a volunteer.

It is advisable that volunteers conduct thorough background checks of the organisations or projects that interest them.

We also encourage that volunteers exercise prudence when seeking opportunities for being involved as a volunteer.

There are normally no financial costs for becoming a volunteer in a not-for-profit or community organisation. If in doubt, check with Volunteering Victoria, your closest Volunteer Resource Centre (VRC) or local council first before incurring costs related to your volunteer work.

We have Volunteer Information Officers who conduct telephone interviews and give leads and referrals to potential volunteer roles.

Call us at 9642 5266 on Mondays to Fridays, from 10 am to 4 pm, to set up an appointment for a phone interview with one of our Volunteer Information Officers.
