Engaging CALD Communities in Volunteering in Victoria – A guide for volunteer organisations

This booklet, produced by AMES with funding from the Department of Planning and Community Development, is a resource for volunteer-involving organisations who wish to engage and support volunteers from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

The resource is based on the content and the learnings from four ‘Strength and Diversity in Supporting Communities’ seminars run by AMES in early 2011.

It suggests approaches to key issues such as low English proficiency, how to embrace cultural diversity and making sure your orientation and training is culturally appropriate.

Download a PDF copy of the guide and find further resources on CALD communities and volunteering on Victoria’s Volunteering Portal.
