National Volunteer Week

Held in May each year National Volunteer Week (NVW) is an annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation’s volunteers. With the theme Give Happy, Live Happy, introduced in 2015, we continued in 2016 to celebrate and explore the research that shows volunteers live happier and healthier lives.

Each year the Give Happy, Live Happy web portal has everything you need to celebrate volunteering including merchandise available for preorder and downloadable resources all aimed at acknowledging the hard work of volunteers and to encourage others to volunteer, so they too can Give Happy, Live Happy.

Visit this page for announcements on the 2017 National Volunteer Week celebrations.

During National Volunteer Week thousands of events are held across the country including thank you breakfasts, morning teas and sausage sizzles as well as open days, awards ceremonies, street parades, garden parties and movie nights. Volunteering Victoria holds a special forum and key note every year.
